This great country is suffering from the ravages of wars and conflicts. So, It is a must to protect the great legacy, represented by human heritage through this project to keep the monuments and the ancient cities using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) by embodying the monuments in a 3D environment that can be watched from different directions and roaming inside it as a first step in project. Then, it is followed by the next stage of digitizing ancient cities to walk around and watch them and keep their sustainability to document Yemen civilization from attempts to conceal and losing the monuments by several reasons like organized theft for the monuments, wars, and conflicts.
Yemen VR project will contribute in internationally highlighting on Yemen civilization and urging the world organizations to claim to protect these monuments that lack promotion and attention from many foreign sources.
This project will help in archiving Yemen civilization for the coming generations, keeping it digitally, and increasing the awareness in protecting it. Also, it will contribute to tracking the smuggled monuments and avoiding selling them in the world auctions or ascribing them to other countries.
Augmented reality is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real-world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory.
